The System for Award Management (SAM) registration is a mandatory requirement for entities wanting to receive funds from the federal government.  Whether through contract awards, grant awards or financial assistance – you will have to create an individual profile and then register your entity.  You will also have to maintain an active SAM profile through yearly updates.
