This particular workshop is geared towards business owners who currently have employees. The workshop will explain what the VA Compensated Work Therapy Transitional Work Experience Program (CWT-TWE) is and how it can help not only veterans to transition into civilian jobs but also help small businesses affordably fill their employment needs.
In a nutshell, here’s how it works:
- An interested company hires a veteran through the program for either part-time or full-time work
- The veteran is a temp hire for 4-6 months unless they are hired permanently by the employer
- The employment is an at will position and can be terminated at any time
- The company pays a flat $12/hr salary to the VA, $9.80/hr of that salary goes to the veteran and the remaining money goes to funding the program
The workshop is free.
