Small business owners are temporarily unable to access new applications for the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program until Nov. 15, the SBA recently announced on one of its Web pages. his is due to the SBA’s transfer of the 8(a) online application to the Certify.sba.gov platform.
Previously, applicants could create a profile and access the 8(a) application form through the SBA’s General Login System, but that access was shut off on Oct. 1. Information about the loss of access was posted on the SBA’s “How to Apply” Web page for 8(a). But some people say it was not well publicized.
The transition also affects applicants who have already begun applications, and those who have submitted and are awaiting a response.
