Congress Wants to Hear from Small Business Government Contractors

On July 8, 2025, the House Small Business Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure (Subcommittee) will hold a hearing titled “Leveling the Playing Field: Fostering Opportunities for Small Business Contractors.” The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) is coordinating the submission of letters of support to ensure small business voices are heard by the Subcommittee.

Why Your Letter Matters—and How to Submit It

Letters of support will be accepted through Tuesday, July 15. This is a crucial opportunity for small business contractors to make their voices heard and urge Congress to address the challenges they face in the federal marketplace. Of particular importance right now is the ongoing FAR overhaul and the potential removal of the Rule of Two. PilieroMazza discusses the background and potential impact to the Rule of Two in our previous client alert, Protect Small Business Opportunities: The “Rule of Two” Faces Potential Elimination. It is vital that small business contractors speak up to protect their interests and ensure continued opportunities in federal procurement. These letters will play an important role in shaping Congressional understanding and safeguarding small business participation.

To submit a statement, follow these steps outlined by MCCC:

  1. Draft your letter on letterhead and address it to:
