Are you familiar with the Alaska Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program (DBE)? The DBE program ensures that federally assisted contracts for highway, transit, and aviation projects ar…e made available for small business concerns owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. In Alaska the DBE program is administered by the Alaska DOT&PF Civil Rights Office. For federal fiscal years 2012 through 2014 Alaska DOT&PF requested an overall DBE goal of 10.82%, to be achieved as follows:

• 5.73% through Race Conscious means
• 5.09% through Race Neutral means
