What do you know about your government customers? What do they know about you? That depends on how effective your marketing is. The PTAC Marketing Lab is an open “lab” where you come to learn about and review your approach, your research, and your materials being used in your marketing efforts to government agencies.

The lab begins with a short discussion on the importance of targeting your market.  PTAC staff will then walk you through how to find and use procurement data to define your targets in the government marketplace. Can you answer these questions about your market?

  • Which agencies or departments purchased your product?
  • Who were the buyers?
  • How often do they buy and in what quantity?
  • Who are your primary competitors in this market?
  • Are future buys anticipated?

Time will also be allowed for open dialogue with PTAC staff and other business owners on how marketing specifically to government is different from marketing to private industry.  We’ll look at ways to evaluate how effective marketing has been for your firm.  Bring your questions and tips to share! If you’re working on a marketing plan, a statement of qualifications, your social marketing, or a website, bring those too.  This is a good time for a review.

Please come prepared: bring your laptop and marketing materials.  If you do not have a laptop, please request to borrow one from us at least 3 hours prior to the lab. Last minute laptop requests cannot be guaranteed.
