This webinar, led by experienced government contracting attorney Maria Panichelli, will cover the basic function and structure of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (the FAR). We will begin with a brief description of the history of the FAR and its development as the governing law of federal procurement. After that, we will walk the audience through the organization of the FAR. Using real-world examples, this presentation will walk you through the organization and structure of the FAR, with a special focus on the regulations governing the submission and evaluation of proposals.

We will also touch upon often overlooked portions of the FAR, including FAR Part 3, Improper Business Conflicts and Personal Conflicts of Interest; FAR Part 6, Competition Requirements; and FAR Part 9, Contractor Qualifications. After that, we will focus on other critical sections, including FAR Part 19, Small Business Programs; FAR Part 31, Contract Cost Principles and Procedures; and FAR Part 33, Protests, Disputes and Appeals. Finally, we will discuss agency supplements to the FAR and deviations. Learn how to navigate the FAR, how to stay in compliance with their regulatory obligations, and how the FAR is interpreted and applied by the Boards and Courts.
