SBA Veteran Certification (VetCert) Update 2024

The one-year grace period provided by the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) ended on December 31, 2023. This grace period had allowed self-certification of Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran status to be sufficient for eligibility to bid on VOSB (VA Only) and SDVOSB set-aside solicitations. Exception: If your application had been submitted and showing as pending status with the SBA on or before December 31, 2023, the business can continue to self-certify for SDVOSB sole source or set-aside contracts until the SBA declines or approves the application.

What does this all mean? It means that starting January 1, 2024, if you want to be eligible to compete for solicitations that have been set aside for Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) (VA only) or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) solicitations then you need to complete your application now!

If you have questions about eligibility requirements or the application process, this webinar is a must-attend! Join Jody King, Alaska APEX Contract Specialist, to learn more about this certification program, eligibility requirements, and what is needed to complete the online application.
